The South African Police Service (SAPS) has announced they have finally paid the full amount to all police officers who worked overtime during the June-July soccer spectacle. Reportedly some 44,000 officers were deployed to work overtime during the tournament, but were not paid by SAPS for these services until just recently.

It was not mentioned whether the payments would include the national bank interest rate, on policemen’s delayed money used by the government. But it was mentioned that the state had to cough up some ZAR 650 million to satisfy payments. The SAPS’s feeble excuse was that the processing of the pay-outs was a “ logistical nightmare. ” Hundreds of non-police personnel, who were temporarily employed as security personnel at various stadiums throughout South Africa during the football matches, are reportedly also still waiting for their unpaid wages.

Temp workers claim that they had been offered far more than what the managements had wanted to pay out to them. They added that they were told they would receive less only after they had finished their assignments.

Just recently the police trade unions were banned from participating in strike actions during the nationwide public servant strike that lasted some three weeks, and is now in a stale-mate after the government declined to give teachers an 8.5% wage hike and ZAR 1,000/month housing allowance. The government went as far as to offer trade union leaders 7.5% and some ZAR 750/month housing allowance.

Guests near a rest camp reportedly saw a young male elephant playing soccer with a flattened beer can that one of the tourists had allegedly thrown out of their car windows.

The elephant was said to have taken the empty can in its trunk, thrown it into the air and allowing it to fall on its head, and then let it hit the ground before attempting to kick it, like a football player practicing tricks with a soccer ball on the field. The elephant was reported to have repeated this several times.

It continued to kick the can about for some 20 minutes before it eventually gave up and moved on. Animal care workers at the Pretoria and Johannesburg zoos claim that many animals in South Africa were given balls to play with during the football spectacle and allegedly the popular video website Youtube is full of clips showing how the various monkeys, zebras and other wild animals can adopt the soccer fever just like humans.

The 2010 South African World Cup’s North Korean national coach Kim Jong-Hun (53) has reportedly been reprimanded, abused and brain-washed by the communist leadership of North Korean tyrant Kim Jong-Il .

After having been forced to listen to hours of demoralizing blah-blah speeches of some 400 senior cadres of the dictator, Jong-Hun was sentenced to hard labor at a construction site where he allegedly works 14 hours a day.

His punishment came after his team was forced a premature return home after it was unable to win any matches in their pool matches at the soccer spectacle in South Africa. The dictator’s men allegedly felt humiliated by the 7-0 loss against Portugal, which was reportedly televised by Pyongyang’s national state broadcasting.

The team also lost 2-1 to Brazil and 3-0 to Ivory Coast. It was the first time since communist Korea qualified for the world cup since 1966. The 23.8 million population saw that communist Korea is not invincible contrary to all the crap they had been led to believe by their dictators.

All this despite the ongoing international propaganda that coach Jong-Hun was “ looking forward to the future ” , despite his team’s early exit from the 2010 World Cup.

The South African Government and sports bodies are reportedly working on new initiatives to prevent the country’s 2010 World Cup state-of-the-arts stadiums from turning into white elephants.

The premier league (PSL) has welcomed and strongly supports the initiative of staging soccer matches more for excitement than for profit. In the first step four soccer teams have agreed to Cape Town’s 66,000-seat Green Point Stadium hosting what they call Double Header Fridays, when at least once a month two matches are played at the same venue giving fans and spectators the advantage and joy of receiving two for the price of one match.

The low-cost entry tickets are sure to boost turnout as matches are being played at 6 pm and 8.30 pm. Organizers say the first such spectacle will be on Aug 27, 2010 and plan to accommodate at least 40,000 people at Green Point. The PSL hope the initiative will spread like wildfire to all the other new stadiums in the country before the end of the year.

At the same time organizers plan to alternate Fridays for soccer and Saturdays for rugby matches at these stadiums.

Currently South Africa has 10 brand new or revamped stadiums. These are

The two finalists in the 2010 South African World Cup have reportedly received a belated penalty from the international football governing body, FIFA. Reports said that FIFA has decided to carry out the penalty and book Holland (actually the Netherlands, as Holland is merely a county in The Netherlands) and Spain for abusing the fair play rules of the world cup.

During the world cup trophy match on July 11, 2010 at Johannesburg’s Soccer Stadium, Holland collected 8 yellow cards and one red card, while Spain collected merely 5 (the most ever collected during the history of the world cup final, exceeding the 1986 Argentina-Germany world cup final where foul play caused the referee to dash out six yellow cards).

Nevertheless based on FIFA rules any Federation playing for an international that collects 5 or more yellow cards will be financially penalised. Holland will have to cough up lunch-money of some EUR 10,000 while Spain will have to do without tuck-money of some EUR 7,000.

At the same time the whole world is laughing at FIFA as many of the players can virtually get away with murder (like when Holland midfielder intentionally literally kung-fu kicked Spain’s Xabi Alonso and all he got was a yellow card warning) during the internationals as the fair play flag and clause of FIFA is more of a mock-tribunal than a deterring factor.

The international audience has sarcastically suggested that FIFA rename the game as an increasing number of hand goals are being scored and saved by non-goal keepers, while the perpetrators get away scot-free and actually praised as national heroes. Based on spectator votes FIFA ranked the Holland-Spanish final of 2010, the worst ever behaviour in a match in the history of the football tournament.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) claim that a British journalist Simon Wright (44) was allegedly arrested for being the master-mind behind the recent attempt to portray blemished World Cup stadium security in South Africa after the England-Algeria match at Green Point Stadium in Cape Town, during their group stage match of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Reports said that a presumed England fan called Pavlos Joseph, had “accidentally” entered the England changing room while he had allegedly looked for the men’s toilet and had been “misdirected” by one of the security personnel to the England change room. Joseph was allegedly apprehended and questioned for reasons of arguing with David Beckham (whatever the “injured” Beckham was doing in the dress room nobody knows).

Joseph’s visit was allegedly just minutes after the British princes Harry and William had expressed their condolences for the crap performance of the England team against Algeria that ended in the 0-0 draw. the entire affair had been downplayed by the England officials and the media were told that the weak-bladder fan had accidentally missed the room number at the stadium.

Joseph and Wright had both allegedly appeared before the special World Cup Court in Cape Town. They were allows to defend themselves after a bail was paid. SAPS officials believe that the Cape Town incident was merely one of many attempts to undermine security in South Africa. the trial continues as police investigate further, SAPS said.British journalist had allegedly made all kinds of negative statements and filed mocking reports on 2010 World Cup safety and security long before the initial kick-off took place on June 11, 2010

The world of professional and international rugby has already embraced television-refereeing as a standard when there is a disputed try. The governing body of the international football federation, FIFA, has announced that it would be “Nonsense not to reopen the file on goal-line technologies” as an increasing number of fans are disgusted by the fact that football refereeing is still in the “stone-age” when it comes to controversial goal-line decisions.

In an independent survey 90% of international fans at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa said that ‘goal-line high tech’ should be implemented to avoid discouragement and disrupting team moral. When 40,000-60,000 viewers at the stadium see that it was a goal on the big screen, the referee should decide on the ‘forensic evidence’ and not on what “the linesmen thought” they saw.

FIFA is to adopt the goal-line technology when its executive committee meets in July in Whales. There have also been suggested that FIFA matches should employ six linesmen in total, three for each side. One would concentrate on centerfield activities and the other two would concentrate on off-side and goal-line activities.

Slovakia was not even a nation some 20 years ago, and now every country in the world knows their name as they have felled the reigning world cup champions – Italy.

Paraguay and New Zealand could not stop Italy, but Slovakia did on Thursday (24 June 2010) Slovakia beat Italy 3-2 in an amazing game, where Slovakia deserved to win and Italy showed more passion and emotion after the game then they did during the match on the pitch.

Slovakia’s most famous victory has now placed them in second place behind Paraguay in their group F matches as they enter the next round of the tournament. Italy leaves the scene at the bottom of the log behind New Zealand.

It is the first time since 1974 that Italy does not qualify for the second round in the FIFA World Cup. Hungarian football fans are also celebrating the victory of Slovakia, a nation that was once a province of Hungary known as the Felvidek (the united northern provinces of Hungary).

For a long time the capital of Hungary was the city of Pozsony (today’s Bratislava). Hungarian officials have thanked the Slovakian team saying, “you have made us proud.” The so-called white Apostolic cross on a red background from the Hungarian coat of arms has been adopted by the Slovakian Republic and is now their official coat of arms.

However their goal-less loss against England (which scored the only goal of the match) cost them a three-point loss and the end of the tournament for them. A last minute stoppage time goal by the USA against Algeria with an end score of 1-0 (0-0), denied Slovenia chances to advance to the next stage after their group C matches.

The US would have been eliminated had they not scored, and would have allowed England and Slovenia to advance. However Slovenia and Algeria will now instead call it quits and exit early, while USA and England continue their plight for the fancy soccer goblet.

Slovenia was celebrated by the world as it has one of the toughest soccer teams in the tournament, and that is exceptionally rewarding gratitude for a country has a mere population of 2-million inhabitants.

The diplomatic scandal is to further erupt as France had cheated in the qualification rounds when their forward Tierry Henry scored a scandalous hand-ball goal against Ireland.

The French president has become so disgusted with the coach of Les Bleus that he has reportedly called him an imbecile, with sub-normal intelligence and “incapable, incompetent and a terrible coach.” Sarkozy has allegedly summoned his sports minister to find a solution to the future of French football and remedy the incompetent diplomatic behavior with South Africa.

Ex-US president Bill Clinton will be among the spectators of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Group C football match between the United States and Algeria on Wednesday (23 June, 2010) at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa.

It can not be confirmed yet, but FIFA has also invited Monika Lewinsky alongside the other 6.9 billion human population on Earth, to attend the games. Perhaps Clinton will come with a Vuvuzela. If so, then it can not be ruled out whether Lewinsky will try to blow his Vuvuzela, and this way inspire the USA squad to win.

If the USA can win against their African rivals then they have a chance of passing into the next round at the top of their group. If they draw with more than one goal, then they have a chance of passing through as runners up, but if they loose then it’ll be an early exit and sent back to Uncle Sam. Skeptics say that it is up to Clinton and Lewinsky to determine how the USA performs.

They’ve done it once they can do it again to draw international attention If Monika blows hard and consistently then the USA has every chance of victory and try reach the finals. The USA is ranked placed 14 in the FIFA ranking, behind Greece and before Serbia.

Bad sport disgraced France coach Raymond Domenech (58, pictured right) declined to shake hands (it’s tradition) with South Africa’s celebrated coach from Brazil, Carlos Alberto Parreira (67, pictured left) after the host nation of the 2010 FIFA Football World Cup beat France 2-1 (2-0) in their Group A challenge.

But still both national teams said an early goodbye as Mexico and Uruguay advance to the next stage. The France coach has suffered a terrible blow after his team nearly led a mutiny against Domenech. Parreira was unable to take his team to glory, but is celebrated in the Rainbow nation for bringing South Africa to world class standard after it was ranked some 84th in the FIFA list, while France is ranked 9th.

The team held Mexico to a 1-1 draw, lost to Uruguay 3-0 (1-0) and dominated the previous world cup championship’s runner up – France. Had Bafana, Bafana (nickname of South Africa’s team) had a 4-goal difference it would have advanced alongside Uruguay.

However the body-language of Domenech revealed a spoilt brat, who had messed up badly at the 2010 tournament and was looking for a scapegoat in Parreira. On-lookers believed that Parreira had criticized Domenech for his team’s ‘un-righteous’ qualification.

“After all it is the 2010 FIFA football and not hand-ball world cup,” they said. Tierry Henry denied Ireland a qualification to South Africa’s 2010 World Cup after he controversially scored a goal, via a hand ball. What goes round comes round.

Two blond bombshells arrested for so-called ‘ambush marketing’ during a 2010 FIFA Football World Cup match have now been released and left off the hook. The two ladies were seen gleeming with joy as their passports were returned to them on departing from a court house in the host nation.

The Dutch had allegedly been involved in under-cover advertising for the Bavaria brewery, wereing the logo on their orange short tops. Football fans could see more than just the marketing stunt as the babes tights revealed an exciting figure of speech. FIFA is said to have ënetered an out of court agreement” with Bavaria.

Experts suggested that thiis could easily have been whistled to the tune of at least one million Euros, to avoid having to dispute the issue at an international court. It is clear that now more people are drinking Bavaria’s brew as the world cup marches on…

Bafana, Bafana as the South African team is commonly known, was unable to take advantage of the one-man advantage after France had one player sent off in the 25th minute for elbowing. South Africa beat France 2-1 (2-0). South African supporters were again proud of their home team and the vuvuzela resounded non stop even hours after the game came to a close. Uruguay beat Mexico 1-0 (1-0) and after 20 years was again able to qualify into the next round. Uruguay and Mexico now advance into the next stage.

Eusébio da Silva Ferreira, the legendary ‘black panther’ was also at the match gleaming as he had scored 4 goals against North Korea in 1966 when Portugal beat the communist country 5-3 (0-3).

Because of this he has received multiple e-mails with the death threat “This man must die.”

The Nigerian Government and football federation have taken the threats very seriously and are arranging for Kaita’s safety. The Nigerian is a registered player for the Russian club Alaniya. He is reportedly aware of the danger, but has allegedly elaborated “Who lives and who dies, I leave that decision to God.” It will require devine intervention for Nigeria to pass through to the next round as they need a miracle to win after having lost two out of three matches in the first round.

Death threats are not to be taken lightly in the case of kaita, who has reportedly received more than 1,000 death threats via e-mail in the wake of his red card versus Greece, South African Police Service confirmed Sunday (June 20, 2010).

In 1994 after having scored an own goal in the American FIFA Football World Cup in 1994 three murderers took Columbian defender Andres Escobar (27) outside to the parking lot of a bar and shot him 12 times. Each time they allegedly shouted “Gooaal” just like football commentators do.

His life was on the line as punters had placed bets worth millions of dollars on Columbia’s win, but the Columbian squad was compelled to prematurely abort the tournament as Escobar’s own goal (where they lost 2 goals to one to the USA) ended the chances of Columbia, one of the best national teams, of winning the cup.

The French Football Federation made the announcement in the South African holiday resort town of knysna, near Cape Town on Saturday. It was said that Anelka had “refused to apologize” and according to French reports had denied the allegations of having bad-mouthed his coach.

He admitted having had a “heated conversation” with the coach in the privacy of the team dressing room, but denied any other wrong-doings. It was his very first appearance in the South African 2010 FIFA Football World Cup. So far he has scored 14 goals during his 71 international appearances for France.

It was a crying game as hundreds of home fans left the stadium prematurely following what they considered an unlawful penalty shot and second goal conceded by South Africa from Uruguay’s Diego Forlan.

Just minutes earlier South African goalie Itumeleng Khune collided with off-side Uruguayan player, which the Swiss referee deemed a professional foul and awarded Uruguay the disputed penalty. Khune argued and walked away and was punished with a red card in the 76th minute.

In the 90th minute overtime Uruguay scored a third goal. Experts argued that FIFA’s severe ruling requires changing the rule as it was a double jeopardy, as the goalie had firstly already been punished with a penalty and secondly a red card. They argue that Khune should have maximum only been given a yellow card.

The so-called 12th man of the South African squad was silenced by the spectacular 15 yard shot and goal by Uruguay’s Diego Forlan in the 42nd minute. South African goalie Itumeleng Khune was sent off by the Swiss referee in the 76th minute, leaving the host nation’s team to fend with 10 players.

He was booked for accidentally colliding with a Uruguayan player, and Uruguay was awarded a penalty for the so-caalled “professional foul”.

The penalty was converted also by Forlan and after the 90th minute extra-time Uruguay was able to score their third goal, leaving the host nation deeply disappointed over the devastating defeat, even though Uruguay played well. South Africa is now down, deflated but not defeated yet.

On June 15, 2010 Brazil played perhaps one of its toughest matches as the top ranked against Communist Korea as the lowest ranked (105th position), experts said. During the match Brazil shot 26 tries at goal of which 10 were on target compared to Korea’s 11 shot attempts on goal of which only three were on target.

The last time Communist Korea played in a world cup was in 1966, when they managed to reach the quarterfinals. Nevertheless Hungary continues to dictate the world of football despite the fact that the small nation in the heart of Europe did not even qualify for the soccer spectacle of the 2010 FIFA Football World Cup, hosted by the Republic of South Africa.

Hungarian match officials were in full force when they controlled the game between Brazil and Communist Korea. Referee Viktor Kassai and his two lines-men Gabor Eros and Tibor Vamos monitored the fast pace game where the Korean defense was as solid as concrete, denying the Brazilian team any goals during the first half. Kassai allowed the game to play uninterrupted by yellow cards, much to the pleasure of both teams who were rather disciplined compared to earlier matches of the same tournament.

However he did have his eyes focused on Fabiano, whom he warned three times, but did not book. His patience was rewarded and spectators were flabbergasted as the boys from brazil penetrated the Korean defense and obtained their first goal via Maicon in the 55th minute and another in the 71st minute via Elano.

The two players had no problem with the swerve of the Jabulani soccer ball. But his patience was short-lived in the 87th minute when he booked Ramires with a yellow card. Hardly had one minute gone by and out of the blue Korea’s Ji Jun Nam scored an immaculate consolation goal in the 88th minute. After two minutes of extra time Brazil beat Korea 2-1.

The three Hungarian match officials reportedly did a great job and gave spectators a most enjoyable game. Incidentally it was Hungarian referee Sandor Puhl, who refereed the final match at the 1994 World Cup in which the Brazilian team won the trophy in which current coach Donga was also a member.

Ironically the Communist Korean coach’s surname is Hun (Kim Jong Hun) – perhaps he’s also directly or indirectly related to Attila the Hun, as the nomadic Hungarians horsemen are believed to originate from the area beyond the Ural Mountains, which experts said is modern day Mongolia. There is demographic evidence that Magyars may have migrated as far afield as Nepal and Southeast Asia.
